Additional infos and FAQs
Elvie Trainer is the first product by Elvie, a health and lifestyle brand developing smarter technology for women. CEO and co-founder Tania Boler was inspired to create Elvie Trainer when she learnt of the importance of pelvic floor health during her first pregnancy. She was shocked to discover how neglected this important part of women’s health and postnatal care was and became passionate about improving the health and lives of women everywhere and at all stages of their life through smarter technology.
Why pelvic floor exercises (Kegels) matter
The pelvic floor is a powerful layer of muscles that that sits like a hammock between your tailbone and pubic bone. They lift and hold your pelvic organs, assist with bladder and bowel control, and work with the abdominal muscles to support your back. Despite being hidden from sight, they play an important role in women’s health, including sexual and emotional wellbeing. Pregnancy, childbirth, ageing and high-impact sport can all weaken these muscles. As a result, 1 in 3 women, and up to 80% of expectant and new moms, experience physical problems.
Pelvic floor exercises are recommended by health authorities around the world to prevent or treat pelvic floor problems, improving symptoms in up to 70% of cases of stress urinary incontinence.
Why is Elvie Trainer unique?
